Cosmetic Dentistry

Making a great impression with your smile is easier than ever before, with modern dental techniques. If you have cosmetic concerns, please feel free to bring them to our attention. Our goal is to provide you with a smile that is not only cosmetic, but natural and functional.

Whitening

Teeth whitening is a popular procedure today. It is a quick way to give your smile an instant makeover. Not only are the results fast, it is also a painless and affordable procedure. Over time, our smiles can yellow due to a variety of factors like age, diet, smoking and medicines. Our whitening system offers patients a dazzling and more noticeable smile that leaves them wanting to show off their pearly whites!

We offer at-home teeth whitening so that you can brighten your smile in the comfort of your own home. Our system incorporates whitening trays that can be worn either for one hour during the day or overnight while you sleep. If you want a smile that is several shades brighter, you will be pleased with this non-invasive process.

Tooth-colored composite

Tooth-colored composite resins are a very popular choice for many patients for both fillings and for hiding dental flaws. Instead of silvery amalgam fillings that can darken over time, many people are thrilled to choose a filling that is virtually invisible when a repair is needed. Not only can we give you a filling that matches your tooth’s natural color, we can hide flaws or cover discolored areas with the composite material, a procedure called dental bonding.

Veneers/Crowns

Patients can enjoy nearly undetectable dental repairs with porcelain crowns and veneers. Tooth-colored porcelain mimics the translucence and reflective quality of natural tooth enamel like no other substance yet created by dental technology. The tools and materials available to dentistry continue to dramatically change as technology improves. Dr. Meares attends many hours of continuing education classes and is constantly updated on the latest technology.

Crowns

Crowns are indicated when a tooth is so damaged that it requires a significant amount of support to remain useful. The crown is custom-made to be bonded over the prepared tooth above the gumline. Additionally, crowns are used to strengthen teeth after root canals or for teeth that are cracked or broken. Oftentimes, Dr. Meares is able to fabricate a permanent crown in a single visit and without the need for an impression.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, tooth-colored porcelain shells that are used to mask a wide variety of dental flaws. Because they are bonded to the front side of the teeth, they can create a flawless appearance in as few as two dental appointments. Veneers can be used to correct:

  • chipped or cracked teeth
  • teeth of uneven length
  • misshapen or “pegged” teeth
  • discoloration that cannot be corrected with teeth whitening
  • certain types of misalignments or malocclusions

This procedure can also correct other flaws. Ask Dr. Meares if dental veneers are right for you.
